EDITOR'S PICK: PURE DENIM

BY POP KAMPOL

Denim’s not just for jeans this season, but everything including hats, jackets, shirts, shoes, handbags and accessories. From high fashion to the high-street, you'll find lots of desirable denim items. This week we spotted a stylish guy in New York who knows very well how to pull off his denim style.

PHOTOGRAPH: MEE SUGANYA

Name: Aaron Pepper, 33

Hometown: Melbourne, Australia

Occupation: Copywriter

Vest: Bonds, Shirt: Cotton On, Jeans: K Mart, Boots: Urge, Glasses: Vintage frames from Ebay, Necklace: A collection of trinkets from my girlfriend and thrift stores.

OT Style: What do you think about denim?
Aaron: My second skin.

OT Style: Any tricks on how to pull off the denim look?
Aaron: I’d never assume I was doing it right and had the authority to give anyone denim advice. But personally, I tend to stay away from gimmicks – no excessive pre-fade, prints, complicated cuts or pocket stitching and no branding. The simpler the better, and you don’t have to spend a lot.

I found these jeans in K Mart back home for $20 AUD. So I bought six pairs. I’d also recommend making sure your button fly is done up properly before someone takes a photo of you in the street for a fashion blog.

Here’s my pick: pull off the best head-to-toe denim look - just a mouse click away. Acne offers a variety of interesting denim pieces. Especially the laptop case which is definitely a must have!
